Really? The issues they are exploring interest me but not the way they go about it. Maybe I'm just missing something, but I can't get over my desire to throttle the wives that are not Barb. Maybe it gets better after season two, or maybe I'm just missing something.

Lovely Bones was terrible. I don't even know why the nominated Stanely Tucci, he wasn't that great. I just saw Up in the Air the other night, and I really liked it.

You know, I've randomly watched a few episodes of Big Love, and I have to say that I really like it. I don't really know whats going on since I'm watching episodes form season 3 (4?), but it's interesting. I also read this article (http://thephoenix.com/boston/recroom/95192-more-than-mormons/) which made me think about the series differently.

Maybe I just wish I could be married to several different people. Or something.

You saw Lovely Bones? I heard it was atrocious.

I've seen a few of these, but my to-see list includes Up in the Air, Precious, An Education and Fantastic Mr. Fox (one day). I don't really care about the rest.

I think this might be my favorite "Best of" category because so many eloquent people have offered up their favorite books, yours included. Thanks for the recommendation! :)

This is a great review. My mom thought the book was too depressing, and everyone else who has raved about it did so either completely incoherently, or in a dispassionate, academic way that didn't inspire me. Now I'll be snatching up my mom's copy when I see her for Christmas. I read this just in time. Thank you!
